Flight Sim Hardware Deserves a Second Flight

Hangar Exchange

UK Based?

Upgraded your setup or changed aircraft?

Or simply got flight-sim hardware sitting around that you no longer use?

Hangar Exchange is a simple way to sell your unwanted flight simulation hardware directly to AvGeekHangar.

Tell us what you’ve got and, if it’s something we’re currently interested in, we’ll make you an offer.

We’ll arrange collection, inspect and test the equipment when it arrives and, once everything checks out, we’ll pay you.

The hardware is then cleaned, accurately described and offered through Hangar Exchange to another member of the flight-sim community.

Your old hardware. Someone else’s next upgrade.

Got Something Gathering Dust?

Flight simulation hardware isn’t cheap.

And as our setups evolve, perfectly good equipment can quickly find itself replaced by the next yoke, throttle, set of pedals or controls we’ve convinced ourselves we absolutely need.

We’d rather see that equipment flying again.

We’re selectively purchasing UK pre-owned flight simulation hardware from the UK community for resale through Hangar Exchange.

We won’t be buying everything we’re offered, and the products we’re looking for will change depending on demand and the equipment we already have available.

So rather than publishing a wanted list, there’s one very easy way to find out.

Tell us what you’ve got.

Complete the form below with as much information as possible and we’ll take a look.

How Hangar Exchange Works
01
Tell us what you've got

Complete the Hangar Exchange form with details about your equipment, its condition, what’s included and a photograph.

02
We take a look

We’ll review the information you’ve provided alongside current demand and the pre-owned market.

We won’t be able to make an offer on every product we’re sent, but we’ll let you know either way.

03
We make an offer

If it’s something we’re interested in, we’ll contact you to confirm any additional details we need and make a provisional cash offer.

There’s no obligation to accept it.

04
We arrange collection

Happy with the offer?

We’ll arrange for the equipment to make its way to the Hangar.

We’ll provide the collection instructions, but you’ll need to make sure the equipment is appropriately and securely packaged for its journey.

05
We inspect and test it

Once it arrives, we’ll check the equipment against the information provided and test its functionality.

If everything is as described, we’ll confirm the purchase.

If we discover something materially different, we’ll contact you before proceeding.

06
You get paid

Once inspection and testing are complete and the purchase is confirmed, we’ll arrange your payment.

Then your old hardware begins the search for its next cockpit.

What Affects My Offer?

There isn’t a fixed price list for Hangar Exchange.

Flight-sim hardware values change, as does demand, so every potential purchase is considered individually.

Not having the original box doesn’t automatically mean we’re not interested.

Missing accessories don’t necessarily rule something out either.

Just tell us exactly what you’ve got.

The more accurate the information you give us, the easier it is for us to make an appropriate offer.

Things we'll consider can include:
Buying from Hangar Exchange

Hangar Exchange isn’t a classified advertising service or a peer-to-peer marketplace.

The pre-owned products you see here are being sold by AvGeekHangar.

Before an item is listed, we’ll inspect it, test its functionality and clean it, ready for its next owner.

We’ll also show you the actual product you’re buying.

Listings will include photographs of the individual item, its condition grade and a clear description of what’s included, along with any cosmetic marks, missing accessories or other information we think you should know.

  • No pretending a five-year-old throttle is brand new.
  • No carefully avoiding photographing the scratch on the side.

Pre-owned means pre-owned. We just think you should know exactly what you’re buying.

Our Condition Grades
Excellent

Very well looked after with minimal signs of previous use.

Very Good

Good overall condition with some minor signs of normal use.

Good

Fully functional but showing more noticeable cosmetic signs of previous ownership.

The individual listing will always take priority over the grade.

We’ll photograph and describe the actual item so you can make your own decision before buying.

Why Hangar Exchange?
Because good flight-sim hardware shouldn’t become useless simply because its owner has upgraded.
For an existing simmer
Selling equipment can help fund whatever comes next.
For somebody building their first setup
Pre-owned equipment can provide another route into a hobby where hardware can quickly become expensive.
For the wider community
It keeps perfectly usable equipment where it belongs: in a cockpit rather than a cupboard.

Hangar Exchange is starting small.

We’ll learn from the community, develop the service and gradually expand what we can offer.

But the idea behind it will stay simple.
