Community first

This Is Your Hangar Too

We can create articles. We can interview people. We can find interesting projects and spend far too much time talking about flight simulation.

But if AvGeekHangar is going to be genuinely community-first, The Hangar can’t just be our voice.

It needs yours too.
01 / WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don't need an audience

We’re not only looking for established content creators.

You don’t need 50,000 YouTube subscribers, a huge Discord server or thousands of followers.

You might have none.

01

Perhaps you’ve spent three years building a home cockpit and want to show people what you’ve learned.

02

Maybe you run a Virtual Airline or local flight-sim group.

03
You might create liveries, scenery or add-ons.
04
Perhaps you’ve discovered a brilliant piece of software nobody seems to talk about.
05

Maybe you’re a real-world pilot who uses flight simulation at home.

06

You could be completely new to the hobby and have something to say about what it’s like getting started.

07

Or perhaps you’ve simply got an opinion.

We're interested.
02 / BEYOND YOUR CORNER

Not just the mainstream

One of the things we’ve learned while building AvGeekHangar is just how enormous – and sometimes disconnected – the flight simulation community really is.

It’s very easy for all of us to exist within our own little corner of it.

We want to discover the people, projects, communities and ideas that don’t always get the attention they deserve.

Big or small.
Mainstream or incredibly niche.

If it’s interesting to the flight simulation or aviation community, there’s potentially a place for it here.

03 / HONEST BY DEFAULT

Tell us what you really think

We also want opinions.
Real ones.

AvGeekHangar works with businesses, suppliers and partners across flight simulation and aviation. Those relationships help us do some of the things we’re trying to do.

They don’t buy an opinion.

If something is brilliant, we want to be able to say it’s brilliant. If something could be better, we want to be able to say that too.

And if members of our community have different experiences or opinions from us, that’s absolutely fine.

The Hangar shouldn’t become somewhere everybody has to agree.

It should become somewhere we can have useful, respectful conversations about the hobby we share.

What could you contribute?
A full article

Written up and ready to run, or a rough draft we can work on together.

Photos of your simulator
A few shots of the setup, the build, the wiring and everything behind it.
A guide
Something that might save somebody else a weekend of head-scratching.
An opinion
Agree with us or not. We’d rather hear it than not hear it.
Your experience

Your take on a particular part of the hobby – however specific it is.

A community project

Something we should know about – yours or somebody else’s.

An idea to investigate
A question you’d like us to go and find the answer to.
A story worth telling
Simply that. Some of the best ones start as a passing comment.

And don’t worry if you don’t consider yourself a writer.

You bring the knowledge or the story. We can help with the rest.

04 / Come into The Hangar

Come into The Hangar

We also want opinions.
Real ones.

We’re at the beginning of this journey, and we don’t know every person, project, club, developer or community worth knowing about.

We probably never will.

That’s why we need you.

If you’re doing something interesting, tell us.
If somebody else is doing something brilliant, tell us about them.
If there’s something missing from AvGeekHangar, tell us that too.

Because ultimately, we’d rather build this with the community than simply build it for the community.

Got something to share?

Tell us as much or as little as you like. There’s no format to follow and no audience size to hit.
