Hangar Miles Programme Terms

IMPORTANT: Hangar Miles is not yet live. These terms provide the framework for the future AvGeekHangar loyalty programme and must be reviewed against the final earning, redemption, expiry and account rules before the programme is activated.

  1. About Hangar Miles

Hangar Miles is the AvGeekHangar loyalty and rewards programme operated by AvGeekHangar Limited.

The programme is intended to reward eligible engagement and purchases by allowing members to earn Hangar Miles and use them for eligible rewards or benefits.

The current ways to earn and redeem Hangar Miles will be explained on the Hangar Miles pages when the programme launches.

  1. Membership

Eligibility to join Hangar Miles, including any age or residency requirements, will be displayed when registration opens.

Membership is personal to the registered member and should not be shared between unrelated users unless AvGeekHangar expressly introduces a household or group feature.

A person should normally hold only one Hangar Miles account unless we expressly permit otherwise.

  1. Joining the programme

When Hangar Miles launches, members may be required to create or use an AvGeekHangar account and accept these Programme Terms.

Joining Hangar Miles is separate from consenting to receive optional marketing communications. Marketing and privacy choices will be handled separately in accordance with the AvGeekHangar Privacy Notice and applicable data-protection requirements.

  1. Earning Hangar Miles

Members may earn Hangar Miles through qualifying activities identified by AvGeekHangar.

These may include qualifying purchases from the AvGeekHangar Store and, where specifically offered, promotional or community activities.

The number of Miles earned, qualifying spend and any exclusions will be displayed as part of the programme or relevant promotion.

Miles should not be assumed to apply to a transaction or activity unless the website or promotion identifies it as eligible.

  1. Store purchases

Where Hangar Miles are earned on Store purchases, the applicable earning rate will be shown through the programme information.

Miles may be calculated on eligible product value and may exclude delivery charges, taxes, gift cards, discounts or other categories where the published programme rules say so.

The final launch rules must clearly state exactly which parts of an order qualify.

  1. Hangar Exchange

Hangar Exchange purchases or seller transactions will only earn or accept Hangar Miles if AvGeekHangar specifically introduces that feature.

At initial launch, Hangar Miles should not be assumed to apply to Hangar Exchange merely because it forms part of AvGeekHangar.

Any future Hangar Exchange integration will be explained before it takes effect.

  1. Partner activity

Hangar Miles cannot be earned from purchases made directly with an AvGeekHangar partner unless a specific partner promotion expressly provides for it.

A partner being associated with AvGeekHangar does not automatically make purchases on the partner’s website eligible for Hangar Miles.

If partner earning is introduced later, the applicable transaction, tracking and eligibility rules will be stated clearly.

  1. When Miles are credited

The time at which Miles become available will be stated when the programme launches.

For purchases, AvGeekHangar may reasonably delay final credit until an order has been paid, dispatched or passed an appropriate cancellation/return stage.

The final operating rule should be communicated clearly so members understand when pending Miles become available.

  1. Promotional and bonus Miles

AvGeekHangar may offer bonus Miles for particular products, activities, events or promotional periods.

Promotional Miles may have additional conditions, including a defined earning period, redemption restriction or expiry date.

Any significant restriction will be communicated as part of the promotion.

  1. What Hangar Miles are

Hangar Miles are loyalty points used within the AvGeekHangar rewards programme.

They are not money, electronic money, a bank deposit, an investment or a stored cash account.

Unless AvGeekHangar expressly provides otherwise:

  • Miles cannot be withdrawn for cash;
    • Miles cannot be sold;
    • Miles cannot be exchanged between members;
    • Miles cannot be used outside the participating AvGeekHangar programme; and
    • Miles have no cash redemption value.

Nothing in this section affects a consumer’s entitlement to a monetary refund where the law requires one.

  1. Redeeming Hangar Miles

The rewards, discounts or other benefits available for redemption will be displayed when the programme launches.

The website will explain how many Miles are required and any relevant restrictions before a member confirms a redemption.

Availability of particular rewards may change, but AvGeekHangar will not deliberately mislead members about a reward that has already been validly redeemed.

  1. Part-payment

Whether Hangar Miles can be combined with cash/card payment will be confirmed before launch.

Members should not assume that partial redemption is available unless the checkout or Hangar Miles page expressly offers it.

  1. Returns, cancellations and refunds

If Miles were earned from a purchase that is later cancelled, refunded or returned, AvGeekHangar may remove the Miles attributable to the cancelled or refunded part of the transaction.

If those Miles have already been spent, the account may temporarily show an adjusted balance or AvGeekHangar may reasonably reverse an associated reward, depending on the final programme design.

Where a purchase made using Miles is refunded, any Miles used may be returned to the member’s account where appropriate, while any cash element will be refunded in accordance with the applicable Returns, Refunds & Cancellation Policy.

These loyalty adjustments do not reduce statutory consumer rights.

  1. Discounts and promotional codes

The final programme rules will state whether Hangar Miles can be earned or redeemed alongside promotional codes, affiliate discounts or other offers.

Where combinations are restricted, the restriction should be made clear before the member completes the transaction.

  1. Expiry of Miles

NO GENERAL EXPIRY PERIOD HAS YET BEEN SET FOR HANGAR MILES.

Before launch, AvGeekHangar must decide whether ordinary earned Miles expire.

If an expiry rule is introduced, it must be communicated clearly to members, including how the expiry period works and what activity, if any, resets it.

Promotional Miles may have their own clearly stated expiry date even if ordinary Miles do not expire.

  1. Account balance and errors

Members will be able to view their Hangar Miles balance using the method provided by AvGeekHangar.

If you believe Miles have been incorrectly added or removed, contact help@avgeekhangar.com.

AvGeekHangar may correct genuine administrative or technical errors in a Miles balance. We will not knowingly use an “error correction” to remove legitimately earned Miles without a proper basis.

  1. Fraud, misuse and gaming the programme

We may investigate activity where we reasonably suspect fraud, duplicate-account abuse, manipulation, false transactions, automated exploitation or deliberate gaming of Hangar Miles.

Where misuse is established, we may remove Miles obtained through that misuse, reverse affected rewards, restrict earning or suspend/close the relevant programme account.

We will act reasonably and proportionately and will not remove legitimately earned Miles merely because a member makes lawful use of a promotion.

  1. Account suspension or closure

We may suspend a Hangar Miles account where reasonably necessary to investigate security, fraud or serious misuse.

If we close an account for proven serious abuse, Miles obtained through that abuse may be cancelled.

Where an account is closed for reasons unrelated to member wrongdoing, we will consider existing valid Miles fairly and in accordance with the programme rules.

  1. Leaving Hangar Miles

Members may leave the programme using the method provided by AvGeekHangar or by contacting help@avgeekhangar.com.

Before voluntarily closing an account, members should use any available Miles they wish to retain unless the programme expressly provides another arrangement.

Privacy consequences of account closure will be dealt with under the AvGeekHangar Privacy Notice rather than these loyalty terms.

  1. Changes to the programme

AvGeekHangar may need to change Hangar Miles as the business and programme develop.

Changes may include earning rates, redemption rates, eligible products, available rewards or programme features.

Where a material change would adversely affect existing earned Miles, we will aim to give reasonable advance notice wherever practicable and treat existing balances fairly.

We will not use this clause to make an undisclosed retrospective change that unfairly deprives members of rewards already validly earned.

  1. Ending Hangar Miles

If AvGeekHangar decides to close the Hangar Miles programme, we will aim to give members reasonable notice wherever practicable.

We will also aim to provide a reasonable opportunity to redeem existing valid Miles before closure, subject to circumstances outside our reasonable control and applicable law.

  1. Programme availability

We do not guarantee that every product, promotion or AvGeekHangar service will participate in Hangar Miles.

Temporary technical problems may occasionally affect balance display, earning or redemption. Where this happens, we will take reasonable steps to correct valid transactions.

  1. Tax

Members are responsible for any personal tax consequence that may exceptionally arise from receiving a reward where applicable.

Ordinary consumer loyalty rewards will generally be administered as part of the AvGeekHangar programme, but AvGeekHangar does not provide individual tax advice.

  1. Personal information

Personal information associated with Hangar Miles is handled in accordance with the AvGeekHangar Privacy Notice.

Robyn/data-protection support will determine the final registration, profiling, retention, marketing and privacy implementation before launch.

  1. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Nothing in Hangar Miles Programme Terms reduces statutory rights applying to goods or services purchased from AvGeekHangar.

  1. Governing law

These Programme Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to mandatory protections available to consumers elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
