How We Work With Partners
Commercial Relationships & Editorial Transparency • Version 1.0 • September 2026
AvGeekHangar was created to bring together the UK flight simulation and aviation community. We also work with businesses, creators, developers, manufacturers, retailers, charities, events and other organisations. This statement explains how those relationships can work and how we aim to make commercial relationships clear to our community.
- Community first
Our starting point is simple: AvGeekHangar should be useful to the community.
Commercial relationships help us operate, develop the website, support events, create content and keep building AvGeekHangar. They should not prevent our audience from understanding when a business relationship exists.
Where a relationship is material to content, a recommendation or a purchase decision, our aim is to make that relationship clear rather than burying it in legal small print.
- The different relationships we may have
AvGeekHangar may work with organisations in different ways, including:
- retail suppliers and fulfilment partners;
• affiliate partners;
• event partners and sponsors;
• content and news partners;
• creators and community partners;
• manufacturers and developers;
• businesses supplying products for review or demonstration;
• businesses paying for clearly identified advertising or sponsored activity;
• charities and not-for-profit organisations; and
• other organisations supporting AvGeekHangar or the flight simulation community.
The existence of a partnership does not automatically mean that every interaction with that organisation is paid or sponsored.
- Affiliate links
Some links on AvGeekHangar may be affiliate links.
This means AvGeekHangar may receive a commission or other benefit if you follow the link and make a qualifying purchase or take another qualifying action.
Using an affiliate link should not normally increase the price you pay unless this is expressly stated.
Where content contains affiliate links or a material affiliate relationship that readers should know about, we will aim to disclose this clearly and prominently in or near the relevant content.
- Affiliate relationships do not buy an opinion
An affiliate arrangement means AvGeekHangar may benefit commercially from qualifying referrals. It does not mean the partner purchases a favourable review, recommendation or editorial conclusion.
Where we express an opinion about a product or service, our aim is for that opinion to reflect the experience and judgement of the relevant AvGeekHangar contributor.
If an affiliate relationship is relevant to that content, it should be disclosed.
- Products supplied for review or demonstration
Manufacturers, developers, suppliers or partners may occasionally lend, gift or otherwise supply products, software or services to AvGeekHangar for review, demonstration, testing, event use or content creation.
Where the fact that a product was supplied is material to the audience’s understanding of the content, we will identify it.
Receiving a product does not guarantee positive coverage.
Where a product must be returned after review or demonstration, we may also identify that where relevant.
- Sponsored and paid content
If a business pays AvGeekHangar specifically to publish or produce promotional content, the commercial nature of that content will be made clear.
We will use clear descriptions appropriate to the circumstances, such as “Advertisement”, “Ad”, “Sponsored”, “Paid partnership” or equivalent wording that makes the commercial relationship understandable before or when the audience engages with the content.
We will not deliberately present paid promotional material as independent editorial content.
- Event sponsorship and partnerships
AvGeekHangar may sponsor, support or partner with flight simulation and aviation events.
We may also receive support from businesses for particular AvGeekHangar activities, event areas, equipment, prizes or community initiatives.
Where a sponsor has funded or supplied a particular activity and that relationship is relevant to visitors or participants, we will aim to identify the sponsor appropriately.
Event partnership does not mean AvGeekHangar controls every aspect of an event unless AvGeekHangar is expressly identified as the organiser.
- Prize and competition partners
Businesses may supply or contribute prizes for AvGeekHangar competitions.
A prize supplier does not automatically become the promoter of the competition.
Where appropriate, competition material will identify the prize supplier and the applicable Competition & Prize Draw Terms will identify the promoter.
Supplying a prize does not entitle a business to determine the winner outside the published competition rules.
- Retail suppliers and drop-shipping partners
Some businesses work with AvGeekHangar as suppliers, distributors or fulfilment partners for products sold through the AvGeekHangar Store.
A supplier relationship is different from an editorial endorsement.
Where AvGeekHangar is the retailer, the customer’s purchase contract remains with AvGeekHangar even where a partner physically dispatches the product, unless the customer is clearly told otherwise before purchase.
Our retail arrangements are governed by our Terms & Conditions of Sale and Delivery & Shipping Policy.
- Reviews
Reviews may be written by AvGeekHangar contributors or community partners and may contain personal judgement.
Where there is a material commercial relationship connected to the product or business being reviewed, we aim to disclose it clearly.
We do not promise positive reviews in return for payment, products, affiliate arrangements or partnership status.
A manufacturer or partner may be given an opportunity to correct objective factual errors before publication, but this should not give them control over the reviewer’s genuine opinion.
- Technical Hangar
Technical Hangar may include contributions from technical specialists, PC builders, manufacturers, developers and other knowledgeable partners.
Commercial partners may contribute useful technical expertise or product information.
Where content is materially promotional or connected to a commercial relationship, we will identify that relationship appropriately.
Technical Hangar should not become disguised advertising simply because a commercial partner has expertise relevant to the subject.
- News and editorial partners
AvGeekHangar may work with specialist news organisations and other publishers.
Where an article, extract, feed or news item originates from another publisher, it will be attributed appropriately.
A news partnership does not mean AvGeekHangar owns the partner’s journalism or controls its editorial decisions unless expressly agreed.
- Creator and community partners
Creators and community partners may contribute articles, videos, interviews, opinions, event appearances, promotions or other material.
Their views may be their own and do not necessarily represent AvGeekHangar Limited.
Where a creator has a separate commercial relationship with a brand that is materially relevant to content they provide to AvGeekHangar, we expect that relationship to be disclosed so it can be communicated appropriately.
- Discounts, codes and tracked links
AvGeekHangar or its creators may occasionally provide discount codes, referral codes or tracked links.
We will aim to make clear where AvGeekHangar or a contributor receives commission or another material benefit from use of the code or link.
A discount offered to the community does not necessarily mean AvGeekHangar receives a commission; the disclosure should reflect the actual arrangement.
- Gifts and hospitality
From time to time AvGeekHangar representatives or contributors may receive reasonable hospitality, event access, samples or other benefits connected with the industry.
Where a benefit is significant enough that the audience would reasonably need to know about it to understand relevant content, we aim to disclose it.
Minor routine hospitality does not necessarily require a disclosure in unrelated content.
- Our own products and services
Content may refer to products or services sold directly by AvGeekHangar, including Hangar Exchange.
Where the commercial connection may not otherwise be obvious, we will make it clear that the product or service is provided by AvGeekHangar.
We will not describe our own commercial product as though it were an unrelated independent recommendation.
- Charities and community organisations
AvGeekHangar may support charities, community organisations and not-for-profit initiatives.
Where we promote fundraising or charitable activity, we will aim to identify the relevant organisation and explain the relationship accurately.
A charity or community partnership should not be presented as a commercial endorsement unless that is genuinely the nature of the arrangement.
- Disclosure belongs with the content
This page explains our overall approach, but it is not a substitute for disclosure on the content itself.
Where a commercial relationship is material, the disclosure should appear where people are likely to see it before or when they engage with the relevant content, link, recommendation or promotion.
We do not expect users to search through this page to discover that a particular article is sponsored or contains affiliate links.
