Competition & Prize Draw Terms
These General Terms apply to prize draws and competitions promoted by AvGeekHangar Limited unless the individual promotion states otherwise. Every promotion should also have Specific Competition Terms explaining the entry method, dates, eligibility, prize and winner-selection process. The Specific Terms and these General Terms should be read together.
- Promoter
Unless the Specific Competition Terms identify another promoter, the promoter is:

- Specific Competition Terms
Each promotion will state its key conditions, including:
- opening and closing date/time;
• who is eligible to enter;
• any minimum age;
• geographic restrictions;
• how to enter;
• whether any purchase or other action is required;
• the number and nature of prizes;
• how winners are selected;
• how and when winners will be contacted;
• any collection, attendance or delivery requirement; and
• any other significant condition that could affect a person’s decision to participate.
Where the Specific Terms lawfully differ from these General Terms, the Specific Terms will apply to that promotion.
- Eligibility
Eligibility will be stated for each promotion.
Unless stated otherwise, AvGeekHangar promotions are intended for residents of the United Kingdom.
Entrants must satisfy any minimum-age requirement stated for the promotion.
Employees of AvGeekHangar Limited and people directly involved in administering or judging a promotion may be excluded where the Specific Terms say so. Immediate family or household exclusions will only apply where they are expressly stated.
- Entry period
The opening and closing date and time will be stated clearly.
Entries received after the closing time will not normally be accepted.
AvGeekHangar is not responsible for an entry that is not successfully received because of a technical, connectivity or platform failure outside our reasonable control, although we will administer promotions fairly where a widespread problem is known to have affected entry.
- How to enter
The permitted entry method will be explained in the Specific Terms and promotional material.
An entrant must follow the stated method. We will not introduce an undisclosed requirement after entry has opened.
Where a promotion is described as free to enter, no purchase will be required.
Where a promotion is linked to a purchase, ticket, event activity or other transaction, it must be structured and described in accordance with applicable UK law and the Specific Terms must clearly explain the requirement.
- Entries and conduct
Entrants must provide accurate information where information is required for entry or winner contact.
We may reject an entry where we reasonably establish that it:
- was submitted outside the entry period;
• does not satisfy the published eligibility rules;
• was generated or submitted using prohibited automated or bulk-entry methods;
• is fraudulent;
• involves manipulation of the entry process;
• contains unlawful or infringing material; or
• otherwise materially breaches the published promotion rules.
We will apply the published rules consistently and fairly.
- Multiple entries
Whether multiple entries are permitted will be stated in the Specific Terms.
If a promotion is limited to one entry per person, household, ticket, email address or other stated unit, additional entries may be disregarded.
We will not retrospectively impose a multiple-entry restriction that was not made clear when people entered.
- Prize draws
Where a promotion is a prize draw, the winner will be selected using a fair random process from valid eligible entries.
The Specific Terms will state when or approximately when the draw will take place.
Where appropriate, AvGeekHangar will retain an internal record of the selection process.
- Judged competitions and challenges
Where a promotion is based on skill, performance, knowledge, creativity or judging rather than chance, the Specific Terms will explain the relevant judging or scoring method.
Where judges are used, the promotion will be administered using the published criteria.
Where a competition involves a leaderboard, timed challenge, other measured activity, the applicable scoring rules, tie-break procedure and any attempt limit should be stated before participation where practicable.
- Prizes
The prize, or a reasonably clear description of it, will be stated in the Specific Terms.
Unless stated otherwise:
- prizes are non-transferable;
• prizes cannot be exchanged for cash;
• no cash alternative is available; and
• a winner cannot require AvGeekHangar to substitute another product.
Where a prize has been supplied by a partner, manufacturer, exhibitor or sponsor, this will be identified where appropriate.
If circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control make the advertised prize unavailable, we may substitute a prize of reasonably equivalent value where lawful and fair. We will not use this provision simply to avoid awarding an advertised prize.
- Prize value
Any stated prize value is an approximate retail or promotional value at the time the promotion is published unless expressly described otherwise.
Changes in retail price after publication do not entitle the winner to receive the difference in cash.
- Winner notification
Winners will be contacted using the method described in the Specific Terms, such as email, telephone, social media message or announcement at an event.
Entrants are responsible for ensuring that contact details supplied for the promotion are accurate.
We may ask a potential winner to provide reasonable information needed to verify eligibility before awarding the prize.
- Claiming a prize and redraws
A winner may be required to respond within a reasonable period stated in the Specific Terms.
If a winner cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts, fails to respond within the stated period, declines the prize, or is found to be ineligible, AvGeekHangar may select another winner using the same or an equivalent fair method.
We will not impose an unreasonably short claim period that makes it unnecessarily difficult for a genuine winner to claim.
- Delivery or collection of prizes
The Specific Terms will explain whether a prize will be posted, collected at an event, collected from AvGeekHangar or provided in another way.
Where we deliver a physical prize, we may require a valid UK delivery address.
Where collection or attendance is an essential condition of the prize, this will be made clear before entry.
Unless the Specific Terms say otherwise, AvGeekHangar will bear ordinary delivery costs for a physical prize that we have agreed to deliver within the stated eligible territory.
- Event-based competitions
Some AvGeekHangar promotions may take place at events such as flight simulation shows or community events.
Event entry, venue access, travel and accommodation are not included with a competition prize unless expressly stated.
Where participation requires attendance at a particular event, this must be stated in the Specific Terms.
AvGeekHangar may need to adapt the administration of an event-based competition for safety, venue requirements, equipment failure or other reasonable operational reasons. Any change will be made as fairly as possible and will not be used to favour a particular entrant.
- Leaderboards, scores and ties
For scored or leaderboard competitions, AvGeekHangar may record participant identifiers and scores for administration and display.
The Specific Terms should state the scoring method and any tie-break rule.
If a genuine technical failure makes a recorded attempt unreliable, AvGeekHangar may permit a replacement attempt where this can be done fairly and consistently.
- User-created entries
Where entry requires a photograph, video, written submission, design or other original content, the entrant must have the right to submit it.
The Specific Terms will explain any permission AvGeekHangar needs to display or judge the entry.
We will not claim broader ownership of an entrant’s original work merely because it was entered into a competition unless a separate, clear and lawful agreement expressly provides otherwise.
- Publicity and winner information
We will not require unreasonable publicity as a condition of receiving a prize.
We may ask winners whether they are willing to take part in reasonable promotional activity.
Any legal requirement to publish or make available winner information, and any privacy choices or objections available to winners, will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the AvGeekHangar Privacy Notice.
- Personal information
Personal information used to administer a competition is handled in accordance with the AvGeekHangar Privacy Notice and any competition-specific privacy information.
Privacy, marketing consent and cookie matters are managed separately from these Competition Terms.
- Social media promotions
Where a promotion is hosted or promoted through Discord, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X or another third-party platform, the platform’s own rules may also apply.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the promotion is operated by AvGeekHangar and is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by the social-media platform.
Entrants should not be required to falsely tag themselves or other people in content in order to enter.
- Partners and prize suppliers
A partner may supply or contribute a prize without becoming the promoter.
Unless the Specific Terms expressly identify a joint promoter, AvGeekHangar remains responsible for administering an AvGeekHangar promotion.
A prize supplier’s product warranty, activation or use conditions may apply to the prize where relevant.
- Changes, suspension or cancellation
We may make a necessary change, suspend or cancel a promotion where circumstances outside our reasonable control make it impossible, unsafe, unlawful or materially impracticable to continue as advertised.
Where possible, we will minimise the effect on entrants and communicate any material change clearly.
We will not cancel or alter a promotion simply to avoid awarding a valid prize or because the outcome is commercially inconvenient.
- Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, AvGeekHangar is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable consequences of our breach or failure to use reasonable care.
Nothing in these terms removes any statutory rights that apply to an entrant or winner.
- Decisions and disputes
AvGeekHangar will administer promotions reasonably and consistently with the published rules.
If you believe a promotion has not been administered in accordance with its terms, contact help@avgeekhangar.com.
Where a factual or scoring dispute arises, we will review the available records before making an administrative decision.
- Governing law
These General Terms and AvGeekHangar promotions are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights available to entrants elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
